Publication Ethics

JARIS-WBC (Journal for Advanced Research and Innovation Studies) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. As a multidisciplinary international peer-reviewed journal, it follows ethical practices in research, writing, reviewing, editing, and publishing to ensure the quality and credibility of scholarly communication.

The journal expects all authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members to adhere to the following ethical guidelines.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal must ensure that:

  • The research work submitted is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere for publication.
  • Proper acknowledgment and citation are provided for all sources, references, data, figures, and ideas used in the manuscript.
  • The manuscript does not contain plagiarism, fabricated data, falsified information, or misleading interpretation.
  • All listed authors have made significant academic contributions to the research work and have approved the final manuscript before submission.
  • Any conflict of interest, financial support, or funding related to the research is clearly disclosed.
  • Ethical approval is obtained wherever necessary for research involving human participants, animals, surveys, interviews, or sensitive data.
  • Authors promptly inform the Editorial Board if significant errors are identified after submission or publication.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the academic quality of the journal. Reviewers are expected to:

  • Review manuscripts objectively, fairly, and confidentially.
  • Evaluate submissions solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, methodology, and relevance to the journal.
  • Avoid personal criticism of the author(s).
  • Inform the editor about any potential conflict of interest or ethical concern.
  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the author(s).
  • Maintain confidentiality and not use unpublished material for personal or professional advantage.

Responsibilities of Editors and Editorial Board

The Editorial Board and editors are responsible for ensuring a transparent and ethical publication process. They shall:

  • Make publication decisions based on originality, scholarly quality, peer review recommendations, and relevance to the journal.
  • Ensure a fair, unbiased, and confidential peer review process.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.
  • Prevent conflicts of interest in editorial and review decisions.
  • Take appropriate action in cases of plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or copyright violations.
  • Uphold academic freedom and encourage ethical scholarly communication.

Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

The journal has zero tolerance for plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate submission, and other forms of academic misconduct. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism-detection software before publication.

If any unethical practice is identified before or after publication, the journal reserves the right to:

  • Reject the manuscript,
  • Request corrections or clarifications,
  • Retract the published article, or
  • Inform the concerned institution or authority, if necessary.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

Authors retain responsibility for ensuring that their work does not infringe upon any copyright, intellectual property, or legal rights of others. Permission must be obtained for the use of copyrighted materials wherever applicable.

Compliance with Ethical Standards

The journal follows ethical publishing standards and encourages contributors to adhere to the guidelines of recognized academic and research bodies, including the University Grants Commission and internationally accepted principles of publication ethics.

Dropdown 5 Plagiarism Policy

JARIS-WBC (Journal for Advanced Research and Innovation Studies) is a biannual peer-reviewed journal committed to promoting academic integrity and original research. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for plagiarism using authorized plagiarism-detection software before and during the review process.

If plagiarism or excessive similarity is identified at any stage of the review process, the following policy shall apply:

  1. Similarity Below 10%

If the similarity index is less than 10%, the manuscript may be considered for publication, subject to the approval of the Editorial Board and successful peer review.

  1. Similarity Between 10% and 30%

If the similarity index is between 10% and 30%, the manuscript will be returned to the author(s) for revision and necessary corrections. The revised manuscript may be reconsidered after satisfactory modification.

  1. Similarity Above 30%

If the similarity index exceeds 30%, the manuscript will be rejected and will not be considered for publication. The decision of the Editorial Board/GTU in this regard shall be final.

The journal follows the guidelines prescribed under the University Grants Commission regulations:

Researchers and contributors are advised to refer to the official UGC guidelines for detailed information regarding plagiarism and academic integrity:

The author(s) shall be solely responsible for the originality, authenticity, and plagiarism level of the submitted manuscript. JARIS-WBC shall not be held responsible for any ethical or legal violations committed by the author(s).
